Question by : Is it legal for a random person to look up your court records?
I have a friend with a very nosey mother who likes to randomly look up the court records to everyone that she knows. She often reminds me that I am on probation for a speeding ticket and holds it over my head. As you could imagine, this type of behavior gets extremely old and annoying. I could understand if I was some sort of sex offender that she needed to know about but that is not the case.
Anyway, my question is that I feel like this is in some way an invasion of privacy as she can freely go to a website, type in my name, and get all of the court details without any permission. To all of my lawyers out there… are there any lines being crossed here? Is there anything that can be done?
If it helps any, I am located in Maryland

Answer by Chrys they’re public once they’re filed…if you don’t like it, turn her in to the police or tell her to shut her mouth, you’re tired of hearing her run it.
I doubt the police can or will do anything, but it might help to have a report if it gets worse.
Scandal has rocked the Dallas Crime Stoppers program. The cash-for-tips program has helped police solve thousands of crimes. However, there was apparently one crime that happened right in the Crime Stoppers’ office. A Dallas police officer and another woman are under investigation after thousands of dollars went missing. This week, Dallas police searched the Crime Stoppers offices in a bank building in Oak Cliff looking for the missing money. “We are conducting a criminal investigation into allegations that some of the payouts were mishandled and some people may have received payouts they weren’t entitled to,” said Dallas police First Assistant Chief Charles Cato. One of the officers’ first stops was at the office of Senior Cpl. Theodora Ross, who has run the Crime Stoppers unit since 2003. Police also arrested Malva Delley. Court documents say Delley told police that officer “Theadora Ross provided her with confidential Crime Stoppers information, which she used in an attempt to collect Crime Stoppers reward money that did not belong to either of them.” When a tipster gives police valid information, Crime Stoppers then give that person a code number, which is brought to a bank where they collect cash. It’s anonymous, and that system may have left room for corruption. The potential corruption was discovered when a tipster tried to collect money at the bank but found it had already been collected. “[We're] exploring all our possibilities right now, who might have been …

Shop.StrongerTeam.com – Regardless of what happens in post season play, the University of Maryland’s men’s basketball team has had a phenomenal season. Part of their success stems from their off-season strength & conditioning program, where players not only become stronger and more powerful… but get mentally tougher and learn how to compete. Their strength coach, Paul Ricci, does an excellent job. As you will see in this video, the foundation the players built in the off-season translated directly to their play on the court. Two of the players in the video are Montrose alumni Adrian Bowie and 2010 ACC Player of the Year Greivis Vasquez. Greivis is far from being the strongest player on the court, but his mental toughness and competitive fire is unmatched! A special thanks to Coach Ricci for sharing this video.
