From the news report of the incident: Jack Ingram, points leader in NASCAR’s Busch Grand National Series, has been suspended indefinitely from all NASCAR competition and fined 00 for an incident Sunday in a race at New Asheville Speedway in North Carolina, officials said Monday. NASCAR officials said the disciplinary action was taken as a result of an incident involving Ingram that sent driver Ronnie Pressley to the hospital. They ruled that Ingram’s conduct was detrimental to the sport of auto racing. Ingram, 49, of Asheville, NC, also faces criminal charges for resisting arrest after the incident. He is accused of three counts of assault on a law-enforcement officer and one count of disorderly conduct, according to Buncombe County Magistrate’s court records. Ingram led the first 141 laps of the 200-lap North Carolina State Late Model Championship, but Pressley took the lead on the 142nd lap. When Ingram tried to retake the lead, there was a three-car tangle involving Ingram, Pressley and Larry Ogle. Ogle’s car went to the outside, while Pressley’s slid into a wall just above the entrance to pit row and Ingram’s slip past the pit-row entrance. Ingram suddenly turned his car around on the infield grass and rammed Pressley’s car. Workers from several pit crews surrounded Ingram’s car. Asheville police escorted him from his car to a truck, where a massive fight broke out.

What are the Statutory rape laws in North Carolina?

Posted by | Posted in North Carolina Court Records | Posted on 10-12-2011

Question by betsy: What are the Statutory rape laws in North Carolina?
I am a 16 year old girl and I am in a relationship with an 18 year old guy. My parents found out we were sleeping together and are saying they can take my boyfriend to court. Can they really do this? Can they sue him and will this give him a criminal record?

Best answer:

Answer by jurydoc
Suing him will not give him a criminal record. Suing is an action pursued in civil court, not criminal court. The age of consent in NC is 16 for male-female sex, so you can give consent. This does not mean the guy can’t be charged with “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” or other similar crimes, but it is not statutory rape.

That being said, there are significant advantages to you, your boyfriend and your relationship if you pay attention to your parents’ concerns and change your behavior.

I was caught shoplifting in North Carolina, any advice on what I should do?

Posted by | Posted in North Carolina Court Records | Posted on 02-12-2011

Question by Jushin Thunder God: I was caught shoplifting in North Carolina, any advice on what I should do?
First of all, I’m not a bad person at all and this is my 1st offense, otherwise my record is clean. My Court date is set for April 14. It was Misdeamor Larceny, the item I took was under $ 30. What should I do? Should I plead guilty? I can’t really afford an attorney right now. Is there any chance I can get that this won’t go on my record?

Best answer:

Answer by Incognito
Go to court. Pay the fine or do the community service. Yes, it will go on your record. But, it will be erased eventually. The eventually will be when you turn 18 if you are younger than 18.
