I have a general idea of what state he is in and two names to go with, but I can’t afford to pay for a search or a PI, is ther eanyway I can find him without this? Like public records or something?

Here’s an organization whose specific focus is the rights of adoptees. I know their name may sound harsh, but they’re one of the best info sites:

Here’s another organization who serves all members of the "triad," adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents:

Start by checking out your birth certificate. If nothing on there check on line.
maybe u could google him.
I would try your birth certificate. Once you have his name you could search online. I did that with a girlfriend of mine. And I just started emailing and calling and Bamm I found her.
Good Luck!
from your birth place and try to do some advertisement
I looked for my bio parents approx 6 years ago. Found them, not pleasant, but anyway. I don’t know all the info that u know for when u were born, etc etc–how about http://www.dogpile.com -so anyway, i called the hospital that I was born at and got copies of my birth records and on there, is the name of my bio parents, ssn, etc etc and i went from there. I know there is a website that u could put his ssn on if u knew taht or what not and also, if u find out his name, go to dopile and put his name in on the white pages and the state and usually it comes up with telephone numbers! Also this morning i learned a new website….www.zabasearch.com/google–check that out as well!
