Question by eao_12: Not Showing up to court for not going to school?
i have a friend that hasnt been going to school and has to go to court or something, i dont know the exact story here so i apologize. I was just wondering how long she could go to jail for not showing up to court. i believe she has had previous run ins with the law so she does have a record of some kind. This is in Kansas is that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help, and sorry for lack of information.

“What happens if I skip school?
You are required to attend school. This will have a major impact on your future, and it certainly will affect your parents or guardian because they will be held responsible. The courts can be involved if you continually miss school, and your parent or guardian does not or is unable to get you back in school. Eventually, you might end up in court custody. The court would then have to decide where you would be placed so that you do attend school.”
