Question by Jane Doe: Is there a way to view Tennessee court records? How?
In Washington you just go to this site: http://dw.courts.wa.gov/ and type in anyone’s name and voila, there is up to date court information. While looking for similar public Tennessee court records I came upon a site that says this:
Can Members of the Public View Knox County Records?
In Tennessee, unless a law or regulation states otherwise, government records must be made available for viewing. There is no requirement for a “Freedom of Information Act” formal request. Listed below are a few examples of records series which are open and some which are confidential.
but I can’t find any place that has this information available. I need to find where the court records for Tennessee are asap, my friend is missing and I’m hoping he’s just in jail out there and not hospitalized or worse.
I would prefer to find an online record, or somehow have a number to call or some direct lead because I live in WA not TN. I think it would be in Knox county specifically that I’m looking for but I’m not sure. I’ve looked everywhere!

They are in each and every county court.
Some may be on line but i doubt it. It is expensive to set up. Don’t think Tennessee had as much to spend as Washington State.
The records themselves are kept by the clerk of the court for whatever county the trial was in.
Most people are disappointed with what they find. The whole record can be the name, the criminal code number of the charge and the plea and the finding.
The details of the hearing are available to order directly from the court stenographer, costs lots of money and takes time. they do not type up a trial unless asked.
What do you think? Answer below!

How does the state of California keep record of married individuals and who has access,if there is,to the data

At which point does the info become public and how does the state compile the info and avoid any poligamy?
Basically what I am asking is: Is there a main database that compares the names of individuals (or SSN#s) when they apply for marriage licences? And who, even govermnet agencies or credit buerous, has/have access to that information/database?
Thanks.
Is there a free public record website to find out who is the registered owner to vehicles in California??

I was the victim of a hit and run accident today and am 6 1/2 months pregnant. I got the license plate number and called 911 on my cell phone as I followed the vehicle long enough to get the number. All they gave me was a case #.. I know I’m going to have to pay the deductible but I eventually want to take this guy to small claims. Just for being insensitive. Maybe some charges can be put on him I don’t know but isn’t there a public website that I can log on to, to get his name info or if the vehicle is up to par on registration??
