Question by Mike: Would records for births be released to me if i am using them for a school project?
I am seeking birth records for the month of November, 1993 in Orem Utah. I need them for a project that i am working on, does anyone know how i would go about getting those records en mass? I don’t need just one or two, just the bulk of them for a genealogy project.
Would i go to a court house, or just write to them?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Answer by Joyce B Try writing to Vital Statistics. They could use a laugh. Unless you get express written permission from those involved and can pay $ 18.00 apiece, you cannot get someone else’s birth certificate.
Question by M M: Using phone recording in court allowed?
My father is in an abusive relationship. He has an extremely crazy (now ex) girlfriend. I have witnessed this from her in the past. Recently, he had an argument with her that got out of control. She bit him on the cheek (broke skin), stabbed his hand with a corkscrew (part of a jack knife) and scratched him up. He recorded the conversation with his iPhone. She clearly says on the recording (multiple times) that she is going to kill him. Can this evidence be used In court without him getting in trouble for wiretapping??? He lives in Maine. this is the only evidence he has against her.

US firearms agents estimate that around 80 percent of the weapons used by Mexican drug traffickers come from the United States, where cartel leaders are hiring Americans with clean records to make the purchases for them. In the past four years, Mexican authorities say they have seized 90000 weapons from their nation’s drug war. “The cartels need their tools of the trade, which are the weapons, and they are coming to the US to get those weapons,” William McMahon of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told NBC News. Authorities say the straw buyers are paid up to 0 per weapon and cite a recent case in Oklahoma City, where a former state narcotics agent pleaded guilty in such a gunrunning scheme. Francisco Reyes, 29, was accused of paying two friends to buy dozens of firearms destined for Mexico …
In the United States, using criminal records is one of the most basic ways that the public can do to promote and ensure safety and security. Through the use of these essential records, any person would be able to conduct a proper background check. With that, citizens would have the advantage of determining whether individuals are law abiding citizens and who are the ones that have a bad record due to some crimes they have committed. Many years ago, people were generally unaware about the real profile of a certain person that they encounter. Companies would have a little idea about applicants whether they are secretly living criminal lives. Parents would be unable to find out if their daughter’s date is someone that has been previously charged with assault. In the same way, single individuals would have a hard time trying to determine about the trustworthiness of people that they deal with. Criminal records are really that useful. In fact, it can be vital for your safety and the well-being of your loved ones. In addition, it could likewise be used so you could protect your properties and assets. Without accessing it and using it to your advantage, you will always be exposed to risks and dangers that could jeopardize your safety. These days, criminal records have become much easier to access because of the internet. People no longer have to make visits to actual offices and access physical copies of these criminal records but they could simply log on to an appropriate site and then find out if there are any existing records for an individual that they are looking for. Through these sites, the records could be available at the tip of your fingers in just a few minutes. Obviously, more and more people are using these resources these days rather than the traditional way of searching. What these criminal records sites do is to gather records from the local law enforcement agencies as well as from the other departments that have these kinds of documents such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations, court county offices plus many more. In most cases, most of these online providers even hook up with these offices so they would be informed about any changes that occur in the actual records so they could update what they have in their online databases.
Why is using free Background Check services a bad idea? There are a couple of free Background Check services you can try. Unfortunately most of them are very time-consuming, or they deliver very basic details. The first one are of coarse the search engines. You just type the person’s name on Google, Yahoo! Or MSN(Bing) and see what comes up.If you are lucky the person you are searching on has a unique outstanding name – in these cases its possible to actually find some details about that person. But if the person you are looking for has a common name, you are faced with hundreds, not to say thousands, of pages of information.I have tried searching on my new neighbors this way – after going threw 21 full pages on Google I felt like pulling out my hair on by one – I had only 3256 more pages to go…Another option is going to your local Court House or your local Police Station and doing a search there. It’s actually quite a good way to go. But it’s very time-consuming and involves a lot of paper work. Nowadays, with the easy access to the internet, hardly anybody chooses this route.Another way to go is to use the so called “professional” free Background Check servicesWhen using the “professional” free Background Check services you face a couple of issues.First – you will have to ignore the tendency of these “free” websites to try and upgrade you to their paid services – they try to do it in all kinds of very creative ways.Second – you will find out very quickly that these services are “slightly” disorganized. Some of these websites consist of very long lists of free databases from different states and counties – you may have to perform your search on each and every one of them separately.Third – If you do happen to have the patience to go through all of these databases and collect the information one piece at a time, you will find out that many times you just get very basic details about the person you are searching. It might be that you only get their name, age and address.Fourth – If you are an obsessive person (like me ) and you keep on digging deeper and deeper into these free databases you might eventually come up with some real information – only to find out later, that this valuable information that you just spend hours of research looking for, was accurate 10 years ago… You see, one of the main problems with the free Background Check services is that they don’t regularly update their archive files (updating such huge archives costs money of course).I don’t see the point of putting so much effort into getting out of date information.Knowing how expensive and time-consuming it is to collect all of this information and maintain an updated archive database, I truly believe it makes sense to ask a fee for having the access to it.It is beyond the scope of this article to cover the many paid Background Check services out there. I will just suggest that you perform some research before registering for one of these websites – not all of them are as good as they should be.
Because most parents have their own full-time jobs or their own businesses, it is really impossible for them to watch their kids at all times. They really need to put some of their time so they could earn a living and, at the same time, provide for their children’s needs. What most parents do these days so it would still be possible for them to be guaranteed about their children’s well-being while they are away is to hire a nanny or a babysitter to do that for them. These people are being paid and being entrusted by parents so they would take good care of the kids while the parents do their jobs. Before accepting an applicant to work for you, it would be wise and it would surely be to your advantage if you will check the person’s criminal records first. You may justify that this is no longer important to do as long as you conduct a thorough interview with the person and check the resume carefully. However, you have to consider that it is really easy to include fake details on a resume and even the most harmless-looking people can lie to you during an interview. With the use of criminal records, you could see a lot of important details firsthand which can really be useful for you to determine if it is safe to trust a certain person. What’s better is that there are many sites on the web that store electronic versions of nationwide criminal records. With their help, it is now very easy and quick to get copies of these records without going to the actual offices of law enforcers or to ask assistance from the private investigators. These online criminal records will only cost you a few dollars but could guarantee you with satisfying results.
